Since New Year’s Day, you’ve been voting for your favourite PlayStation game of the last twelve months. The results are now in, and the PS4A Reader’s GOTY 2013 has been decided. But which title has walked away with this prestigious prize?
In truth, you’ll probably be able to guess the answer, but what may surprise you is just how much it has won by. It’s a game that has had people talking ever since it was announced two years ago, and ensured we spent the whole of last summer playing our PS3s instead of enjoying the sunshine.
That’s right; with a massive 78.5% of the vote, the PS4 Attitude Reader’s Game of the Year 2013 is awarded to The Last of Us.
Not many games genuinely make you feel like you’ve been on a journey with the main characters, but The Last of Us pulls this off with apparent ease. Congratulations to everyone at Naughty Dog and Sony, for creating what is not only the best game of the year, but one of the greatest games of the seventh console generation.
To emphasise just how far ahead Naughty Dog’s title was, the two games in joint second place – BioShock Infinite and Persona 4 Golden – each received less than 5% of the vote. They were closely followed by Beyond: Two Souls, then Grand Theft Auto V, with Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, FIFA 14, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Resogun, Tearaway and Tomb Raider bringing up the rear.
It’s been a truly amazing year for gaming, with awesome releases on both PS3 and PS Vita, as well as, of course, the launch of the PS4! The PlayStation brand has arguably never been in a stronger position, so we look forward to seeing what delights 2014 will bring…
