Today’s PS4A PlayTime has a distinctive Japanese vibe to it, and features games such as Dragon Quest Heroes, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and Sword Art Online: Lost Song.
I finished up Resident Evil: Revelations this week. Overall I was very pleased with the game, even though the graphics are a little bit dated. The gameplay was great, and I really enjoyed the new addition of scanning a room to discover items or enemies for a recovery pill. I didn’t play the Raid Mode, however, as I have moved on to Revelations 2 on the PS4. I’m still on the first episode, but so far it appears to be much of the same. When I’m away from my console, I’ve been playing more Zen Pinball 2 on my Vita. There are always new high scores to reach, and Zen Studios’ support for the game has been phenomenal. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get tired of playing.
This week I’ve been playing loads of Sword Art Online: Lost Song and Dragon Quest Heroes, both of which I’m hugely enjoying. I also managed to finish both Outlast and its DLC and thought it was excellent, so I’m pretty excited for the sequel – it’s scary, but you do start getting used to it after a couple of hours. I’ve moved onto Daylight now, but I’m not very far into it. I also played some Rocket League, but that’s about it for multiplayer on Sony systems.
Having owned Persona 4: Dancing All Night since last month, I can say I’ve comfortably spent roughly 50 hours on it – yup, I’ve danced many a night! It’s my game of the year (surprise, surprise) and I’m still loving it. Even though I’ve played a lot this week, I can’t say I’ve moved across games too much; and that probably won’t change any time soon, considering I’m not really excited for many titles releasing in the rest of the year. I will be picking up Black Ops III soon though!
Despite buying both Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Fallout 4 early in the week, my limited gaming time over the last seven days means that I haven’t yet played either of them. Instead, I’ve been focussing on Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, just as I have in so many previous PlayTimes. Although I’ve made a brief start on the new content from patch 3.1, most of my time has actually been spent playing as my alt character, who is fast approaching level 50. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to play my newly purchased games soon; assuming I can tear myself away from FFXIV, that is!
